Gameplay: The Resident Evil formula might be tired, but Outbreak strives to renew interest by introducing an online element. Up to four players can team up via the PS2's network adapter to slaughter zombies and traverse a series of environments familiar to fans of the series, from local pubs to secret government labs (all ripped straight from the first three Evil games). As one of eight characters, running is the main priority while you try to contain a virus that's overtaking Raccoon City. In a surprise twist, if you happen to get bitten during your mission, you'll get to chase your friends as a zombie.

Bottom Line: The Resident Evil franchise has already proven its blockbuster prowess, so it's safe to say that Outbreak will be in demand. --Jon M. Gibson
