Gameplay: At first glance, Zapper appears to be a Frogger rip-off. At second glance... well, it still does. But that's not negative by any means; Zapper (a cricket instead of a frog) is a perfect pick-up-and-play game for those brief intervals between dinner and TV. Eighteen varied worlds provide enough virtual insect-sized real estate to keep you occupied for hours; and with the Xbox and PS2 come welcomed improvements in graphics and sound.
Bottom Line: Infogrames is being smart with Zapper, chopping the price to appease more impulse shoppers. With the holidays approaching, it will benefit from being that quick, inexpensive game to go with junior's new PS2. --Jon M. Gibson
