Gameplay: While the brand may be wearing thin at retail, this Army Men game stands out. The 3D shooter action is a throwback to such classic arcade games as Ikari Warriors and Commando. In other words, it's fun, mindless action. In addition to excellent two-player co-operative play, 3DO employs both Dual Shock analog sticks within the game (the left stick controls the soldier, the right aims the weapon).
Bottom Line: With no direct competition on PS2, this game should appeal to hardcore and casual gamers alike. A PlayStation version ships March 30 for $29.99, and 3DO is marketing both games with a print and promotional campaign. This is a great rental that could see solid sales and a long retail shelf life. --John Gaudiosi
