Story Line: After Jimmy (Bridges) is busted for buying marijuana, his pals (Martinez, Rosete, Washington) take to the streets in a desperate search for pot. Nothing deters their search, not even being car-jacked, and when Jimmy is sprung free, he joins them for other misadventures.
Bottom Line: This low-budget comedy is basically a Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle rip-off slanted for urban audiences. And even though the filmmakers leave no stoner cliché unturned, they just barely have enough material for 76 minutes (including credits). Former sitcom star Bridges, whose character is arrested in the opening scene, is off-camera for more than half the movie, leaving a less-than-stellar supporting cast to pick up the slack. There are a few laughs scattered throughout but not enough to compensate for an undernourished script and flaccid direction. I Got Five on It should do fine within its niche, and there are those who will want to see Bridges get cuffed on screen, but this movie has very little crossover potential.
