The Snowman

Director Jackson and producer John Coates give new life to a magical holiday tale as they bring the pages of a classic children's storybook to the small screen. Viewers will be transported to another place and time when they journey along with a young boy and his snowman friend brought to life. With no narration and only a musical score to move the story along, Snowman is a wonderful choice for parents and children to watch and discuss together. This title's visuals take center stage and do not disappoint. The animation mimics the storybook illustrations, right down to the smallest detail, such as the rumpled covers on the young boy's bed. One of the more memorable moments, in which the snowman flies with the boy to the North Pole, will have viewers' hearts soaring right along. Although the tale ends on a rather somber note—the snowman having met his fate on a sunny afternoon—this charming tale radiates with warmth that will last well into the New Year.
