SEPT. 6 | Starz Entertainment expanded its agreement to provide Vongo for Hewlett-Packard and Compaq laptops through early 2009.
Starz has been working with H-P since the spring of 2006 and will continue to give new H-P and Compaq consumer notebook PC customers a one-month, unlimited free trial subscription to Vongo, a subscription broadband movie and download service.
Last month, Starz announced it was providing a month of Vongo for Toshiba laptops. And last week Starz revealed a partnership to offer a free trial subscription of Vongo to consumers who purchase AMD computer products.
Vongo provides unlimited access to more than 1,000 movies and 2,500 total video selections as well as a live, streaming Starz TV channel for a monthly cost of $9.99. Select popular pay-per-view titles also are available for individual rental.
Vongo subscribers can stream their Vongo content onto a TV from the PC for optimal viewing with Windows Media Center Extenders, such as Xbox 360, or navigate Vongo and play their movies on the TV with a remote control and Windows Vista with Windows Media Center.
Vongo is available as a free download for broadband subscribers in the U.S. at www.vongo.com.
