FROM VARIETY: Volume will be up 8% in 2007

OCT. 23 | FROM VARIETY: LONDON — European DVD sales will grow 8% by volume and 0.6% by value in 2007, according to the latest estimates from pan-industry body DEG Europe.Sales volumes were already up by 5.7% in the first six months of the year, compared with 3% in the same period of 2006.
According to DEG, the bumper summer box office should translate to even stronger DVD sales of the same movies toward the end of the year.
