> Pac-Man meets The Office in clever ’80s-styled animated series.
Set in the ’80s, the first season of Code Monkeys follows the slacker staff of GameAvision just as CEO Steve Wozniak (who provides his own voice) is quitting to start a company called … Apple. The socially inept game developers must now deal with a money-grubbing new owner who has no respect or understanding of their self-admitted genius. Animated in the style of such 8-bit games as Pac-Man, Code Monkeys combines South Park’s wry potty mouth and The Office’s keen observations of behavior in the workplace—and it’s all quite funny.
Shelf Talk: A popular show on cable TV’s G4, Code Monkeys is a geek-chic piece that has a dedicated, if small following that will jump on this well-priced first volume, particularly as it has two GameAvision games.
