Redbox surpasses 200 million rentals
Kiosk company attracts 25 million customers

SEPT. 17 | Redbox has surpassed 200 million $1-a-night rentals at its 10,000 locations nationwide, according to the company.
The DVD rental machine company has grown at a quick clip, launching in 2002 with 12 locations. Today, Redbox kiosks can be found in every state in the continental U.S. and attract 25 million customers.
The Bank Job, rented on Aug. 25 in New York, became Redbox’s 200th million rental.
“We are incredibly proud to achieve 200 million rentals and 10,000 locations nationwide,” said Gregg Kaplan, CEO for Redbox. “Redbox’s proven technology, dedicated workforce and ability to deliver unsurpassed consumer convenience and value have allowed us to expand rapidly in the competitive home entertainment industry.”
Redbox kiosks are housed at McDonald’s restaurants, Walgreens and Wal-Mart outlets, among other locations.
