Movie Gallery names Miller information chief

Technology specialist worked at Bank of America, PepsiCo

By Danny King -- Video Business, 9/19/2008

SEPT. 19 | Movie Gallery this week appointed former Bank of America executive Craig Miller as its chief information officer, as the No. 2 movie-rental chain behind Blockbuster continues to change its management during the months after emerging from bankruptcy in May.

Prior to working at Bank of America, Miller helped run information technology at PepsiCo, Movie Gallery said this week. Movie Gallery also brought on former Corinthian Colleges chief operating officer Guy Marsala as executive VP of operations.

Movie Gallery continues to overhaul its leadership since exiting bankruptcy in May, seven months after filing Chapter 11. In addition to C.J. "Gabe" Gabriel replacing co-founder Joe Malugen as CEO in May, the company has brought on chief operating officer Sherif Mityas and chief financial officer Lucinda "Cindy" Baier in the past three months.

Miller will report to Gabriel, while Marsala will work under Mityas, the company said.
