Image to distribute Big Vision DVDs

Ghost Hunters among first titles in deal

By Susanne Ault -- Video Business, 10/6/2008

OCT. 6 | Image Entertainment has signed a multi-year distribution agreement with special interest label Big Vision Entertainment.

Going forward, Image will service all of Big Vision’s catalog and new releases on DVD and digital platforms. The Oct. 7 release of TV DVD Ghost Hunters: Season 4 Vol. 1 is among Image’s first Big Vision distributed titles.

Previously, First Look Studios oversaw the release of Big Vision titles to retail.

“Big Vision has a unique and marketable catalog of titles that cross many different popular genres,” said Bill Bromiley, chief acquisitions officer for Image Entertainment. “We’re excited to represent their line of programming and will continue to bring retailers and consumers alike a strong slate of releases.”

Big Vision CEO Houston Curtis added, “Image Entertainment has one of the largest and most solid distribution networks in North America. Image will bring our wrestling, science-fiction, gaming and other special interest titles to a far greater audience as well as help us grow interest in each of these areas to expand the market potential.”
