OCT. 27 | INDIE FILM GUIDE: Oscilloscope Pictures is going green with inner-city basketball doc Gunnin’ for That #1 Spot, produced and directed by Beastie Boys’ Adam Yauch.

Gunnin’ for That #1 Spot is packaged in 100% recyclable paperboard.

Oscilloscope, the distribution arm of Yauch’s Oscilloscope Laboratories, released the title to Amazon Video On Demand as a two-week online exclusive a week before its Oct. 21 DVD release. Amazon also got four never-before-released Beastie Boys tracks, featured in the film, for its Amazon MP3 digital music service.

Due Nov. 14 on DVD ($29.95) and Blu-ray Disc ($39.95), the film is packaged in bright yellow, 100% recyclable paperboard made of 80% post-consumer waste, using vegetable-based inks.

The second feature-length film from Yauch (Awesome … I Shot That!), Gunnin’ follows eight high school players, including Michael Beasley of the Miami Heat, from the 2006 Elite 24 all-star game at Rucker Park in Harlem, N.Y., to the NBA.
