> Superbly scripted Brit-com about a philosophical ex-roadie turned exterminator.
British comic Steve Coogan added another indelibly deluded character to his portrait gallery with this 2006 sitcom about Tommy Saxondale, a former roadie turned exterminator in suburban England. Though the show doesn't present as tightly defined a lead character as Coogan's masterful I'm Alan Partridge, Saxondale acquires a striking articulateness as the series progresses. Brilliantly funny and immaculately detailed, Saxondale fully sketches even the least-seen characters in a few lines of dialog.
Shelf Talk: Coogan has been seen in such recent theatricals as Tropic Thunder and Hamlet 2, so his face is familiar to American viewers. But those most interested in Saxondale will be British comedy enthusiasts who have seen the series on BBC America (where the first season ran very briefly) and have a library containing Alan Partridge, Ricky Gervais' Extras and Brit-com evergreens such as Fawlty Towers and AbFab.
