> Low-budget vampire film tries to rise with Twilight.
Not only are the cops after a gang of modern-day vampires in this DVD premiere, but the fanged ones also are challenged by the illuminati, who want their body parts. Meanwhile, lead vampire Alex (Daniel Goddard of TV’s The Young and the Restless) wants to be human so he can be with his mortal lady love (scripter/producer Katherine Hawkes). Kiss’ script is laughably tangled, while the floating heads in outer space finale is of the “woo-hoo” variety.
Shelf Talk: Vampires are hot thanks to Twilight and HBO’s True Blood, and this rough-hewn film will suit those looking for mild horror and romance. Also play up B-stalwarts Gary Daniels, Costas Mandylor, Martin Kove and American Heiress’ Eric Etebari. MTI will take a bite at fan Web sites, MySpace and YouTube.
