> Chinese culture and language served up for kids.
This animated title helps viewers ages 3-8 learn about Chinese culture while picking up a few vocabulary words along the way. Kids are introduced to two characters: a young boy who has moved to China and his new friend who lives there with her family. The two mainly speak in English, while Chinese characters are displayed and spoken aloud from time to time. Snippets of geography and culture—including how far the Great Wall of China spans and how to eat with chopsticks—are peppered throughout, making this a well-rounded release. Viewers can enhance their learning at www.walkerandpingping.com.
Shelf Talk: Just in time for Chinese New Year, this title makes for an entertaining enhancement to post-holiday store shelves that might be in need of new kids’ releases. It should be merchandised alongside other educational and language sections.
