DEG awards retailers, home entertainment products
CES: Best Buy named National Retailer of the Year

JAN. 8 | LAS VEGAS—DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group is scheduled to hand out awards to retailers and home entertainment products during its annual state of the industry update and reception at CES here tonight.
The trade group will recognize Best Buy as its National Retailer of the Year for Hardware and Sixth Avenue Electronics, a New Jersey specialty retailer with 14 locations, as its Regional Retailer of the Year for Hardware. Its Retailer of the Year for Software is Amazon.com.
Retail honorees are chosen by DEG members.
DEG also will recognize three hardware products with its Emiel N. Petrone Digital Innovation Awards and DVD and Blu-ray software titles with its seven Creative Excellence Awards. It gave Warner Home Video’s The Dark Knight its highest Creative Excellence honor, Best in Show, for its clarity and sound on Blu-ray, and for its first week global sales of 13.5 million units across formats.
