> Killer kiddies wreak havoc in this atmospheric, low-budget shocker.
Lost tourists stumble into a remote village where an unholy, strangely-bred population is filled with murderous, deformed children in this low-budget shocker from first-time director David Gregory, who cut his teeth directing and producing dozens of making-of featurettes for DVD editions of such genre flicks as The Wicker Man and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. With Plague Town, Gregory delivers an effective, low-budget piece that serves up appropriate atmosphere and the requisite doses of shocks and gore.
Shelf Talk: Better than 2006’s killer kiddie quickie Wicked Little Things, Plague Town deserves a place on the shelf closer to the leaders of the genre. Stick it in between 1960’s Village of the Damned and the Children of the Corn series.
