Imagine That grossed $16 million at the box office.

AUG. 19 | PHYSICAL: Paramount Home Entertainment has slated Eddie Murphy family comedy Imagine That as its second staggered release. The title will be available for sale and rental on Blu-ray Disc and for rental only on DVD on Oct. 6.

The DVD is expected to be available for sell-through four to eight weeks later.

The prebook date is Aug. 25.

The Blu-ray, priced at $39.99, will carry bonus features including a set tour with star Yara Shahidi, who plays Murphy’s daughter; behind-the-scenes featurettes; commentary by director Karey Kirkpatrick and Shahidi; outtakes and deleted scenes. The rental DVD also will have the extras.

Paramount is launching the staggered release strategy, which has the potential to boost two growing segments of the home entertainment business—Blu-ray sales and Blu-ray and DVD rentals—on select titles beginning with Sept. 8 release Dance Flick.
