JUNE 23 | LAS VEGAS--The Entertainment Merchants Assn. board of directors re-elected Bob Geistman of Ingram Entertainment to the post of chair and Marty Graham of Rentrak Corp. as treasurer at its meeting here today.

The organization’s officers also include Chuck Porter of Giant Eagle as vice chair and John Marmaduke of Hastings Entertainment as secretary. Marmaduke replaces Leigh Ann Moore of Circuit City. Porter had assumed the position of vice chair some months ago, when elected vice chairman Tracy Koller stepped down after her duties where changed at Target.

Geistman also appointed Bill Lee of Toys R Us an at-large member of the 22-seat board.

In other changes, David Cook of CinemaNow replaced former company rep Curt Marvis and Blockbuster is now represented by Eric Peterson.

Alan Millican of Marquee Movies, Chattanooga, Tenn., was elected the new chairman of the Independent Dealers of Entertainment Assn. (IDEA), and as such will sit on the EMA board. Outgoing IDEA chairman Jim Loperfido, of Emerald City Video in Auburn, N.Y., will retain a seat on the EMA board. IDEA also will be represented on EMA's board by Todd Zaganiacz of Video Zone, South Deerfield, Mass.

Two IDEA reps leave the EMA board: Tom Paine of DVDNow! in Redmond, Wash., and Kathy Slocum of Video Place in Gilbert, Iowa.

During the board meeting, the directors discussed a new model for Home Media Expo, which begins here Tuesday. EMA VP Sean Bersell said the organization remains committed to continuing the show next year but is discussing how to best serve the industry, including possible changes in location and format.
