As it is, American Vampire is a turkey. The story of a young man (Trevor Lissauer) who inadvertently harbors sexy vampires in his parents' house, is neither scary nor campy enough to be recommended on its own--and York is well aware of that. And that's why they've included a Comedic Audio Track (CAT). Running commentaries by film savvy comics Brian Palermo and Sean Hogan of Los Angeles' Groundlings comedy troupe candidly and hilariously point out the film's weaknesses, not the least of which is the lack of exploitation of sexy co-star Carmen Electra. Best of all, you can clearly hear the film's dialogue and music while listening to CAT. Visible boom microphones, wayward continuity, bad dialogue and awful acting are all targets for the witty quips. And wait until you hear what they have to say about Adam West as an aging surfer dude. --Buzz McClain
