Footsteps

Story Line: After witnessing the murder of a local judge, a reporter (Chapa) finds himself in the middle of the mystery, putting his estranged wife (Alonso) and daughter at risk. To make matters worse, his new lover, the mysterious photographer Amber (Lombard), is prime suspect in the killing.

Bottom Line: A standard-issue thriller that throws about the rather-serious theme of abused children (and the consequences of abuse when those children grow up), Footsteps has the feel of a prime-time network drama, albeit with nudity and an erotic edge running throughout. There's little else to distinguish Footsteps from other thrillers on the shelf, except for Chapa and Lombard's few impassioned sex scenes and the appearance of Hedren, one-time pop star Martika and Bernhard, who is surprisingly good as a dramatic actress. --Mayna Bergmann
