La Frontera is based on true stories of those who risked their lives to cross the border, in Portuguese with Spanish and English subtitles (street Sept. 4, prebook July 27; DVD $14.98). It will be followed by a DVD featuring comedian Fernando Arau in his show recorded in Mexico City in 1994 (in Spanish; street Sept. 11, prebook Aug. 3; DVD $12.98).

Kids Love Spanish is an award-winning series, available in seven volumes, that teaches kids ages 2 and older how to speak Spanish. It’s available Sept. 4 (prebook Aug. 7) in a DVD boxed set of all seven volumes for $99.99 and individually for $17.99.

From Mexico, in Spanish with English subtitles, comes the impressionistic documentary Who the Hell is Juliette? (street Aug. 28, prebook Aug. 7; DVD $29.95). Famed Spanish director Luis Buñuel’s A Woman Without Love was filmed in Mexico in 1952 and will arrive on DVD Sept. 25 (prebook Sept. 4), priced at $24.95, in Spanish with English subtitles. Also directed by Buñuel, Susana is the story of a woman who escapes from prison after being jailed for her sexuality, in Spanish with English subtitles (street Oct. 23, prebook Oct. 2; DVD $24.95).
Laguna
In El Secuestro de un Pesado, a man gets involved in the drug dealing world without knowing the danger that awaits him and his family; in Spanish with English subtitles (street Aug. 14, prebook now; DVD $24.95). The Spanish-subtitled La Llorona—The Wailer (street Sept. 4, prebook Aug. 7; DVD $14.95) is being repromoted in time for the arrival of its sequel, which is due out on DVD later this year.

The Mexican film Corazon Marchito (Wilted Heart) is a story of human extremes, and the Mexican theatrical release El Mago is a journey of the heart. Both have a street date of Sept. 18 (prebook Aug. 22; DVD $19.98 each). Then Caminantes ... Si Hay Camino: Leyendas Del Cine Mexicano Vol. 2 showcases Maria Félix and Pedro Armendáriz, two of Mexico’s leading figures in the golden era of cinema, and Caminantes ... Si Hay Camino: Grande Muralistas profiles two of Mexico’s greatest painters and muralists: Diego Rivera and David Alfaro Siqueiros. Both have a street date of Sept. 25 (prebook Aug. 29; DVD $12.98 each).
