> Caribbean espionage thriller boasts CSI's William Petersen—and not much else.
CSI 's William Petersen plays Stephen Guerin, an aloof, swinging security agent for the American consulate on the tiny island of Curacao. When Guerin runs afoul of South African spies who appear to have a score to settle with his best buddy (a bizarrely accented George C. Scott), crosses and double-crosses are set into motion. It's hard to tell what's at stake for anyone, but it doesn't stop Guerin from getting comfortable with sexy co-stars Maria Ellingsen and Julie Carmen. The action in this piece of John Le Carre-lite espionage fare is provided by a hostage situation that has little to do with anything.
Shelf Talk: Made for TV back in 1993, CIA: Exiled was originally entitled Curacao and has been making the rounds on local stations for the past decade. Screen Media is obviously playing up Petersen's CSI heat, with a striking picture of him on the box cover accompanied by a bikinied babe with a pierced navel. Petersen's the key selling point here, besides his late co-star Scott, and Screen Media is supporting the title with video trade advertising.
