OCT. 23 | CNN is making the documentary Planet in Peril available on Amazon.com as a DVD title that’s manufactured on demand by Amazon unit CreateSpace (formerly known as CustomFlix).

The title, a four-hour investigation by Anderson Cooper and Jeff Corwin on the threats of the world's environment, became available for pre-order Tuesday. Its street date is Nov. 7; its price $29.95.

The film highlights environmental issues in more than 13 countries across four continents.

Acquired by Amazon in 2005 when it was known as CustomFlix, CreateSpace manufactures a DVD immediately after a customer orders it. That allows networks, studios and other content owners to offer their content on DVD to audiences worldwide without the cost or risk of carrying physical inventory.

CreateSpace also manufactures on demand books and CDs.
