Web site offers DVD discount with download purchase
By Ned Randolph -- Video Business, 10/24/2007
OCT. 24 | To promote the final season DVD release of New Jersey's most infamous family, Movielink is offering free downloads of select episodes from the first and last season of HBO's hit mobster series The Sopranos and offering a $10 discount toward the sale of any season on DVD at Blockbuster stores.
The deal, made possible from Blockbuster's acquisition of Movielink, is good through Nov. 16.
The discount is effective immediately, in time for this week's release of The Sopranos: Season 6, Part 2, featuring the much-discussed final episodes of the series.
The free download offer includes the following episodes:
• "The Sopranos" (season one, episode one): An introduction to the Soprano family and Tony's first visit to Dr. Melfi's chair.
• "46 Long" (season one, episode two): Christopher and Brendan rile Uncle Junior by taking the initiative on a truck hijacking. Tony forces Livia to move into a nursing home.
• "Denial, Anger, Acceptance" (season one, episode three): Tony, Paulie and Silvio enter a new business deal with a hotel owner. Uncle Junior sends Christopher and Brendan a clear message via a triggerman. Meadow asks Christopher for a favor.
• "Soprano Home Movies" (season six, part two, episode one): Phil demands Tony take out Vito, and Tony delivers an ultimatum to A.J. Carmela visits Paris, and Meadow moves in with Finn.
Registration at Movielink is free but required to participate.
