NOV. 1 | In a unique pre-Black Friday sale on Nov. 2, Wal-Mart for one day will offer Toshiba’s second generation HD-A2 model for $98.97, shedding $200 off the manufacturer’s suggested pricing. The chain also is listing HD DVDs, including Warner Home Video’s Blood Diamond and Universal Studios Home Entertainment’s 12 Monkeys, for $14.96, down from about $20 pricing at many other retailers.
In October, Wal-Mart and Circuit City, among other retailers, began offering the second-generation Toshiba player for $198. Toshiba’s entry-level third-generation model is $299 at Wal-Mart and others.
Other “Secret In-Store Specials” in the Wal-Mart Nov. 2 sale include a 50-inch Sanyo plasma TV for $998 and an Acer laptop computer with 1GB of RAM for $348.
The price will be available only in stores, starting at 8 a.m. Friday.
