From acclaimed director Frank Oz (In & Out, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) comes "a fast, furious and riotously funny farce" (Maxim) that'll have you dying with laughter!
As the mourners and guests at a British country manor struggle valiantly to "keep a stiff upper lip," a dignified ceremony devolves into a hilarious, no-holds-barred debacle of misplaced cadavers, indecent exposure, and shocking family secrets. Packed with extras including audio commentaries and an uproarious gag reel, Death at a Funeral blows the lid off the proverbial coffin as "the film's delicious comic flourishes... sight gags, slapstick, flawless timing... are served up by an outstanding cast" (O, The Oprah Magazine).

> Dark British farce showcases a fine cast of droll performers.
After such troubled productions as The Score and The Stepford Wives, director Frank Oz heads to merry, old England for this refreshing change of pace. It’s a comedy that mixes veddy British farce with some gross-out humor and yields decidedly uneven results. The focus is on a funeral where a writer (Matthew MacFadyen) and his famous novelist brother (Rupert Graves) are about to bury their father. A missing body, a little gatecrasher (Peter Dinklage) with a secret, and a drug-infused guest (Alan Tudyk) all play parts in the chaotic proceedings that follow. The results veer from mildly humorous to talky to just plain tedious.
Shelf Talk: Sophisticated audiences who didn’t attend the Funeral in theaters will be interested in taking a look on DVD, where its stagy antics will play just as well as on the big screen. The overall feel of the film is like that of a Richard Curtis-penned project a la Four Weddings and a Funeral and Love Actually, so try to pitch it to viewers who take in that kind of fare as well as cruder American farces.
