EMA to honor indie filmmaker Jaglom at Expo

APRIL 24 | Independent filmmaker Henry Jaglom will be honored with the Entertainment Merchants Assn.’s Independent Career Achievement award at this year’s Home Entertainment Awards ceremony, part of the annual Home Media Expo.
“Henry Jaglom’s career epitomizes the best of independent filmmaking. His movies are uniquely his vision, and he has never compromised his artistic integrity,” said Bo Andersen, EMA president. “His matchless directorial style reflects his personal observations about our culture that resonates with his very loyal fans. EMA is delighted to celebrate Henry Jaglom’s enduring career and achievements in the entertainment industry.”
Jaglom’s films include A Safe Place (1971), starring Jack Nicholson and Orson Welles, and Tracks (1976) with Dennis Hopper. The British-born director’s most recent film, Hollywood Dreams, follows an aspiring actress and actor trying to make it in Hollywood. The film will be released on DVD by TLA on May 6.
EMA also will honor Happy Days duo Don Most and Anson Williams with the Legendary Television Duo Award, and actor Ed Begley Jr. will receive the Humanitarian Award.
The Home Media Expo will be held June 24-26 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
