Warner hires Vivendi Games exec to head Interactive Entertainment unit

By Susanne Ault -- Video Business, 4/29/2008

Tremblay

APRIL 29 | Martin Tremblay has been named president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

In his new role effective in July, Tremblay will oversee the publishing, marketing, sales, distribution and licensing of Warner’s interactive and gaming content. He will report to Kevin Tsujihara, president of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group.

Previously, Tremblay served as president of worldwide studios at Vivendi Games, where he worked to release such titles as Scarface: The World Is Yours and F.E.A.R.

In the coming year, Tremblay will supervise such Warner releases as LEGO Batman: The Videogame and Project Origin.

Tremblay’s appointment is the latest example of Warner’s aggressiveness with the videogame market. Earlier this week, Warner invested $30 million in SCi Entertainment, the British videogame publisher behind the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider franchise. In 2007, the studio acquired U.K.-based family publisher TT Games.

“Martin is a talented, highly respected executive and has solid relationships across the industry,” said Tsujihara. “In the past year, our interactive strategy has really come together, and we’re extremely fortunate to have found someone with Martin’s impressive track record to now lead WBIE.”

Tremblay added, “Warner Bros. has been creating, licensing and publishing some of the best in class interactive entertainment out there today. I look forward to working with the team of talented and creative people at WBIE to expand on the great work they are already doing.”
