Movie Gallery reports belated Q1 loss
Company in red for $38.9 million in 2008 period

JAN. 16 | Movie Gallery reported a net loss of $38.9 million for the three-month period ended April 6, 2008, according to a Jan. 8, 2009, filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The filing, covering the last period under which the company was still operating in chapter 11, had been delayed due mainly to matters related to the chain's bankruptcy.
The company reported $414.6 million in movie and videogame rental revenue for the period along with $141.1 million in sales revenue, for total revenue of $555.7 million.
