Invincible Pictures starts self-distribution

Plans at least three new releases per month

By Cindy Spielvogel -- Video Business, 3/3/2009

MARCH 3 | Invincible Pictures will self-distribute all its future releases.

The company plans at least three new releases per month, including films in such genres as horror and music as well as films on its Inspirit Entertainment label for the faith and family audience.

The company recently acquired a distribution center in Philadelphia.

Invincible also will distribute its titles digitally through IODA, a digital distribution leader for independent music and film.

“With the decline in DVD sales and the yet uncertain world of Blu-ray, digital distribution is a market where we see strong growth potential,” said Thomas Ashley, CEO of Invincible.

Invincible titles previously were distributed through such companies as TLA Releasing, which is also based in Philadelphia. TLA will retain distribution rights to its titles, which include jam band concert The Disco Biscuits: Progressions.
