> Fascinating film about NYC’s competitive nursery schools.
This fascinating documentary looks at the cutthroat world of New York City nursery schools. Yes, that’s right, nursery schools. The film follows several parents through the numerous steps of securing an application, being interviewed and finding out which schools have accepted their beloved toddlers—all of which is seen to be an unbelievably harrowing and obsessive process.
Shelf Talk: Those who enjoyed such ambitious parental documentaries as Spellbound will likewise enjoy Nursery University. It plays like a Christopher Guest mockumentary, but this time, it’s all real.
