SEPT. 18 | PHYSICAL: 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment enlisted taggers to design box art for its Nov. 17 10th anniversary Blu-ray release of Fight Club, hoping to underscore the film’s anti-establishment themes.
The 10th anniversary release of Fight Club bows Nov. 17.
Tagging, where people mark up public spaces, is generally considered an illegal activity. But Fox and director David Fincher thought capturing the tagging style would best reflect the film’s edgy subject matter of an underground fight club.
Santa Monica, Calif.-based Neuron Syndicate collaborated with Fox in hunting down the right taggers to create the box art.
“The home entertainment audience embraced Fight Club from the get go, and they got its unique style,” said Mary Daily, executive VP of marketing at Fox. “It is fitting that we honor the film by releasing it on Blu-ray on the 10-year anniversary. We worked closely with David Fincher ensuring the package kept true to the tone and feel of Fight Club. It is a collectible piece of art in its own right.”
The Blu-ray, priced at $34.99, will include featurettes, TV spots, behind-the-scenes footage, commentaries, deleted and alternative scenes, a music video, photo gallery, interview, PSAs and Web spots.
