SEPT. 23 | PHYSICAL: Warner Home Video has slotted The Hangover for DVD and Blu-ray Disc release on Dec. 15, effectively making the month of December a box-office bonanza at retail.

The studio’s biggest 2009 releases are staggered throughout December, starting with $125 million-grossing Terminator Salvation hitting Dec. 1; $300 million-grossing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince coming Dec. 8; and now Hangover, which hauled in $274 million, bowing on Dec. 15.

Other studios are contributing major $100 million-plus titles to the month as well. 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment’s Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian, at $177 million, rolls out on DVD and Blu-ray on Dec. 1. Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment’s G-Force, which grossed $117 million, streets Dec. 15.

The Hangover will street as a two-disc standard-definition special edition for $34.99 and on Blu-ray for $35.99. A standard-def single-disc DVD hasn’t yet been specified. Pre-orders are due Oct. 27.

Warner is packing in a number of bonus features for The Hangover release. Exclusive Blu-ray extras include Mike Tyson singing “In the Air Tonight” and a cursing featurette that mashes swear words found in the film all together.

The two-disc DVD features a gag reel, outtakes and photos.
