Terminator to offer first audio BD Live screening

PHYSICAL: Event will be on Dec. 5, days after Blu-ray bow in stores

By Susanne Ault -- Video Business, 10/16/2009

OCT. 16 | PHYSICAL: Warner Home Video will roll out an audio-enabled live community screening of Terminator Salvation—an industry first—on Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. PST.

Terminator Salvation bows on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on Dec. 1.

Viewers watching the screening on BD Live-enabled Blu-ray players will be able to simultaneously watch the movie and hear an interactive fan Q&A conducted by Terminator filmmaker McG. People can submit questions to McG through Web-connected computers or mobile devices.

Up to this point, studios have presented BD Live community screenings solely in text form, with fans only able to read filmmakers’ answers to questions.

Terminator Salvation Blu-ray purchasers can sign up through Warner’s BD Live network to receive an invitation to participate in the screening. The first 100,000 members who RSVP will be guaranteed a spot for the event.
