Blu-ray Disc testing facility certified by BD Assn.

PHYSICAL: BluFocus Inc. finalizing approval for high-def PC software

By Susanne Ault -- Video Business, 10/22/2009

OCT. 22 | PHYSICAL: High-definition certification facility BluFocus Inc. has secured approval from the Blu-ray Disc Assn. as a testing center for Blu-ray set-top/PlayStation 3 hardware and software.

BluFocus also is in the process of finalizing approval for Blu-ray application software for PCs.

The company works to ensure the quality of Blu-ray products as they comply with the format’s specification. It also checks compatibility between software and the various available hardware models.

Warner Home Video’s The Dark Knight was among BluFocus’ past testing projects.

“Our goal since inception has been to promote the Blu-ray format and ensure its success by offering testing and advisory services to all those creating Blu-ray products,” said Paulette E. Pantoja, CEO/founder of BluFocus Inc. “Our highly dedicated and experienced staff have worked extremely hard these last two years, and are very proud and honored to be an approved testing center for the BDA. To be officially recognized and approved by the BDA is a compliment to our hard work and dedication to this format.”
