Rentrak upgrades ForMovies.com Web site

PHYSICAL: Customers can purchase from 50,000-title selection

By Susanne Ault -- Video Business, 11/24/2009

NOV. 24 | PHYSICAL: Rentrak has upgraded the look and functionality of ForMovies.com, an e-commerce site that it hosts for its pay-per-transaction video store clients.

One new feature on ForMovies.com is the ability for PPT retailers to send automated weekly newsletters to their customers.

ForMovies.com enables video customers to purchase movie/TV product from a 50,000-title selection. Titles are then delivered directly to their homes. ForMovies.com also offers theatrical show times, trailers, trivia and other entertainment information.

“Rentrak is, to our retailers, a cost effective way to engage their customers via the Internet,” said Tim Erwin, senior VP of sales and customer relations at Rentrak Corp. “Major retailers spend millions of dollars to create and operate online commerce sites that sell DVDs and Blu-ray Discs. With our proprietary technology, we have made it possible for a retailer to customize our white-label site with their store specific information and promotional offers, and literally be selling product on the Web within an hour.”
