Michael Bay Site To Host Format Debate
October 24, 2007

The official Web site for Transformers filmmaker Michael Bay is scouting for participants to debate the merits of Blu-ray and HD DVD. You have to wonder if Paramount Home Entertainment is cool with this??
Bay famously objected to Paramount's decision to exclusively release product on HD DVD, such as Transformers, believing it would keep some fans from enjoying his work in high-definition. But after catching serious Paramount heat, Bay quickly retracted his statements. Up until Blades of Glory, Paramount released product in Blu-ray and HD DVD.
As a filmmaker for many studios, Bay will likely have to learn to play nice with both sides. He should be dealing with Blu-ray product next, as December theatrical The Horsemen is set to be distributed by BD-exclusive studio Lionsgate.
It's not clear when the Bay debate will be scheduled. But it looks like the Web host, known as Nelson, has already attracted some Blu-ray participants, and was still trying to line up some for Team HD DVD. Nelson did think he'd have more details on the format showdown by tonight.

I think Michael Baby needs to stop complaining & respect Paramount’s decision to go HD DVD exclusive. He should be blaming Sony for causing this Hi Def format war between HD DVD & Blu-Ray & going against the DVD Forum (Creators of the SD DVD).
