EMA to honor Cam Gigandet at Expo

Actor will receive Rising Male Star of the Year award

APRIL 29 | Never Back Down star Cam Gigandet will be honored with the Rising Male Star of the Year award at the Entertainment Merchants Assn.’s Home Entertainment Awards ceremony, held June 24 as part of the Home Media Expo in Las Vegas.

“It is rewarding to witness a bright young actor emerge and achieve so much in this industry,” EMA president Bo Andersen said. “Cam Gigandet has only begun to illustrate the breadth of his talent, and we have no doubt this young man is on the brink of success. EMA is honored to present Cam Gigandet with the Rising Male Star of the Year award.”

Best known for his role in the TV series The O.C., Gigandet is currently working on horror film The Unborn and the Stephenie Meyer book adaptation Twilight.

Other honorees include independent filmmaker Henry Jaglom, who will receive the Independent Career Achievement award; Happy Days duo Don Most and Anson Williams, with the Legendary Television Duo Award; and actor Ed Begley Jr., the Humanitarian Award.

EMA’s annual Home Media Expo will take place June 24-26 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
