MAY 4 | PHYSICAL: Universal Studios Home Entertainment will power up the made-for-DVD release NASCAR: The Secret Life of Cars in 2011.
Tinseltown Toons, behind the LEGO-based Bionicle made-for-DVD projects, is producing the animated The Secret Life of Cars with NASCAR. The title, written by Tinkerbell’s Tom Rogers, will look into what happens to cars inside a NASCAR garage when humans aren’t there. Exact street dates and pricing were not specified.
The Secret Life of Cars marks the first kid-geared full-length animated feature based on NASCAR, according to the companies.
"Developing high-quality animated projects with brands of the caliber of NASCAR is the very essence of what Tinseltown Toons’ productions are supposed to be,” said Larry Kasanoff of Tinseltown Toons. “By creating family friendly programming, we are able to not only reinforce brand identity, but expose these brands to a wider demographic.”
Brad Ball, NASCAR VP of entertainment/marketing added, “We are excited to get involved with a project that will highlight the thrills and excitement of racing to a new generation of fans. “We know toy cars are a big part of the playground environment, and giving those cars a personality surrounding NASCAR racing will provide entertainment for the family while evoking the imagination of kids everywhere.”
