MARCH 29 | Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has combined its international and domestic operations units into one worldwide operation headed by executive VP Aodan Coburn.

The group oversees physical asset management, manufacturing, distribution services, quality control, sales returns and vendor support, including vendor-managed inventory programs.

Coburn was senior VP of international operations.

Other promotions related to the restructuring include Geri A. Bluerock to senior VP of vendor-managed inventory, from VP of VMI; Robert Ziegler to senior VP of operations and production services, from VP of production services; and Walt Engler to senior VP of operations.

“As the dynamics of our growing worldwide business change, the consolidation for our domestic and international operations groups becomes a logical response to the challenges presented us,” said David Bishop, SPHE worldwide president. “These challenges include tightening windows between our theatrical and home entertainment releases, growing demand for our varied home entertainment platforms like Blu-ray Disc and standard DVD, and the rapid growth of our international business. It makes sense, therefore, to enjoy the benefits of a centralized and orchestrated management system, which can take advantage of our affiliated digital companies like the Digital Audio Disc Corp. companies in Terre Haute, [Ind.] and Salzburg, Austria, and Sony Entertainment Distribution.”

Also, Natasha Currie has been promoted to VP of European operations, from executive director of Europe productions.
