Former COO now in newly created role of president
By Jennifer Netherby -- Video Business, 5/23/2007
MAY 23 | DVD wholesaler Baker & Taylor promoted chief operating officer Arnie Wight to president, a newly created position.
Wight will oversee purchasing, operations, information technology, the institutional market and legal and human resources.
Wight joined Baker & Taylor in 1980 and has held positions in operations, finance, purchasing, sales and marketing, rising to the executive VP level in 1999. Since 2003, he has served as COO.
“In his new role, Arnie will continue to work with the senior management team to make sure we grow and adapt as our business changes and to ensure that excellence in customer service remains our primary focus,” chair and CEO Richard Willis said.
B&T also promoted Gary Dayton to senior VP of operations, where he will be charged with operation and management of the distributor’s seven service centers.
Dayton joined the company in 1970 and since 1995 has served as operations VP.
