JULY 6 | Paramount Home Entertainment named Kelly Sooter executive VP and general manager of worldwide marketing, expanding her role at the studio.
Sooter
Previously domestic head of DreamWorks Home Entertainment, Sooter joined Paramount a year ago as executive VP/GM of family entertainment.
In her new role, she will oversee domestic and international brand marketing, creative services and DVD content development. She reports to domestic home entertainment president Meagan Burrows and international home entertainment president Dennis Maguire.
Sooter will work with executive VP of worldwide marketing services Mary Kincaid on global marketing and strategic initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies and increasing synergies across the worldwide division.
Michael Arkin, executive VP of sales and marketing for Paramount Home Entertainment, reports to Sooter.
Sooter, Kincaid and Paramount Home Entertainment worldwide head Kelley Avery worked together at Buena Vista Home Entertainment before moving to DreamWorks, where they gained a reputation for their large-scale DVD marketing campaigns around Shrek and other studio releases.
Sooter continues as general manager for the DreamWorks Animation domestic business, reporting to Avery.
“Kelly’s business acumen, retail knowledge, marketing expertise and creativity have been instrumental in her ability to deliver customer and consumer value and build dynamic marketing teams,” Avery said in announcing the promotion. “Her expanded responsibilities will help us to continue to innovate and grow our business in the increasingly competitive global marketplace.”
