> Good-hearted Spanish-language comedy about friendship, faith and U2.
In order to repay a debt to a mobster, concert promoter Claudio Caballero (Eduardo Arroyuelo) has a week to deliver the band U2 for a concert in his native Mexico, in this likable comedy from first-time director Fernando Kalife. We don’t want to ruin the story and tell you just how close Caballero comes to booking the superstar rockers, but we can say that, reportedly, the members of U2 enjoyed the movie very much and subsequently gave their blessing to the filmmaker, along with cost-free clearances to use their concert footage and music. (OK, so maybe we did ruin it a little…)
Shelf Talk: Nominated for five Ariel awards (Mexico’s equivalent of the Academy Awards) in its native Mexico, the good-hearted 7 Dias has a built-in audience, and that would be, of course, fans of super-group U2. Apart from Spanish-speaking audiences, the film also can be recommended to fans of music industry subjects in general, as well as those who’ve been known to ogle Columbian-born starlet Sofia Vergara, who makes a sexy cameo appearance.
