Thomas Gewecke over VOD, electronic sell-through unit

DEC. 12 | Thomas Gewecke has been named president of Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, the video-on-demand and electronic sell-through unit of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group.

Most recently Sony BMG Music Entertainment’s executive VP of global digital business, Gewecke will now drive new media strategies for Warner’s home entertainment assets. He will report to WBEG president Kevin Tsujihara and work closely with Jim Wuthrich, senior VP of the studio’s digital division.
“Thomas is a forward-thinking executive with a proven track record of successful execution,” said Tsujihara. “He will provide innovative leadership to a great team, and we are very pleased to welcome him to Warner Bros.”
Prior to Sony, Gewecke served as publisher of PC World Online Network at International Data Group.
“The Digital Distribution team, under Kevin’s leadership, has secured the company’s position at the head of the pack,” said Gewecke. “I look forward to working with them to take full advantage of the opportunities presented by the emerging digital marketplace.”
