DEC. 12 | Industry veteran Sandy Friedman has been named executive VP of operations, home entertainment, at Summit Entertainment.
Previously VP of content operations at Netflix, Friedman will now oversee Summit’s DVD product development, retail distribution and inventory replenishment activities.
He will report to Summit home entertainment president Steve Nickerson, who recently joined the company from Warner Home Video.
With 25 years of experience, Friedman also has worked at DreamWorks Home Entertainment, managing launches of such titles as Shrek, Shrek 2, Gladiator and Saving Private Ryan.
“We are extremely happy to have Sandy join the Summit team,” said Nickerson. “His knowledge and experience in many facets of the home entertainment business is well respected by our customers, and he will play an integral role in establishing Summit Entertainment as the best in class operator in our industry.”
Friedman added, “Stephen has assembled a stellar management team, and I am thrilled to join with them to help launch Summit’s new home entertainment division.”
