> TV film about the ’60s serial killing couple is strictly a melodrama.
The infamous “Moor Murders” killing spree case is a feast for true crime addicts. But the soap opera-ish TV movie See No Evil concentrates not on the infamous couple, Ian Brady (Sean Harris) and Myra Hindley (Maxine Peake), who committed the torture killings of children and teens, but follows instead the victims’ families.
Shelf Talk: Given that it is more of a melodrama than a serial killer saga, See No Evil will score more soundly with viewers fascinated by tales of Beatles-era London (Scandal) than with devotees of great British crime movies (The Krays, Dance With a Stranger). Anglophiles will recognize the names of Menaul, who directed the first Prime Suspect series, and Harris, who starred as Ian Curtis in 24 Hour Party People.
