> Lovely adaptation of classic Scholastic teddy bear story.
Straight from the pages of Don Freeman’s classic storybook comes the original Weston Woods Studios production of Corduroy, the tale of the stuffed bear whose determination to find his lost button takes him on an unforgettable adventure. The look and feel of the live action/stop-motion animated film might appear a bit dated, but the story line of a toy that finally finds a home—and, in the process, a best friend—transcends time. Six additional animated stories round out this release, offering plenty of snuggle time. Seasoned viewers might recall the charcoal pencil-like sketches of Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel—complete with a nostalgic look of the storybook pages that have not been sacrificed in its adaptation for the small screen. Celebrity narrators include Mia Farrow and Laura Dern.
