JULY 28 | INDIE FILM GUIDE: Milestone Film & Video has collaborated with Native American artist and skateboard designer Douglas Miles and his Apache Skateboards in a unique tribute for the classic film The Exiles.
The 1961 film, directed by Kent Mackenzie, is about four Native Americans in Los Angeles’ Bunker Hill community who struggle to make a life for themselves. The film opened in New York July 11 and will be booked throughout North America this summer and fall.
Miles’ limited-edition original painted series inspired by the film will debut at the Santa Fe Indian Market in New Mexico in August.
Milestone plans to release The Exiles in a two-DVD set in December at $29.95.
