Codeblack launches e-tail site for African-Americans

Online shopping location includes DVD, book titles

By Cindy Spielvogel -- Video Business, 12/4/2008

DEC. 4 | Codeblack Interactive has unveiled an online shopping site aimed at African-Americans at Codeblack.com.

The site features 4,000 book titles of interest to African-Americans and 2,000 urban DVDs from major studios and independents.

The site also will offer digital distribution of the Codeblack catalog on demand. Codeblack titles feature such stars as Jamie Foxx, Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr., Gabrielle Union, Vanessa Williams, Blair Underwood and others.

“The launch of Codeblack.com answers the long-ignored call from African-American consumers for a quality online retail experience dedicated to urban entertainment,” said Quincy Newell, president of Codeblack Interactive.

To welcome users, a portion of each purchase will be donated to the new Codeblack Scholarship Foundation in partnership with the United Negro College Fund.
